Messages Reveal the late financier and Steve Bannon Relationship

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK to deliver a speech at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down speech I doubt I can make the plane we are heading to the airport".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an amazing helper".

These exchanges were published on this week together with over 20,000 documents from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. Media outlets has been able to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the dates, events, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein discusses chartering a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as Trump's closest aides in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was producing a documentary about Epstein prior to his passing and allegedly has around 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast earlier this year, he said: "We're going to publish the series, the five-part series, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the convicted paedophile occasionally seeming to act like a aide.

A few days before the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Massages. Excluded".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in another message, Epstein told Bannon: "I will ensure you're taken care of."

UK Politics Discussed in Exchanges

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in that year.

Earlier on the same day his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this morning with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled British leader at the time, he continued: "They are attempting to proceed. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view staying as much as you can uk. Ideal- so others see the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa May remain in power". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely BUT the people over here have no balls" and added "Boris ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was eventually removed in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of no confidence in December 2018.

A spokesman for the political party informed the BBC: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its files related to its probe into Epstein, who passed away in jail in that year.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was renewed this week after the release of over 20,000 pages from his archives.

A portion of those mentioned Trump, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The president was a friend of Epstein's for years, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, a couple of years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
